Christmas Day!

We enjoyed a 40-minute skype call with Anziano Barnes on Christmas morning! The members are taking good care of the missionaries, especially making sure they don't go hungry! Midnight mass at the famous Duomo in Firenze, lots of visits and food with members, and a phone call home makes a great Christmas!

Part I: The Call

We’re called to rescue, ready, strong, and brave.

We’ve learned the ways, received the pow’rs,

And now we’re sent to find, to help, to save,

Become as He, whose life saved ours.

We shield our head, chest, loins, and feet for might.

We offer healing, pure and sweet.

Our swords unsheathed, shine as our leading light,

Our rod and tools, to lift and free.

And so we’re sent to search the mighty world,

To try to rescue all of men.

Our hands outstretched, our hearts unfurled,

We’re going now to rescue them.

Part II: The Search

We’re searching, searching, in the dead of night,

For one who’s lost, alone, and hurt.

Our way is given by the rays of light,

And from our task, we won’t avert.

Through mist we find him, in the raging depths;

We call, but he will not respond.

And dropping down our rod, his heart, it leapt!

And to the rod, he latches on.

We help and show him how to make it back –

He has to do some on his own,

But that he did, and nothing did he lack!

And thus we rescue – take him home.

Part III: The Task

Although it seems the path we trod is rough,

Look back? Regret? We don’t – We go!

Our time is long, and it may seem enough,

But great our purpose is –We know!

The night is dark’ning, ever closing in.

The work’s not done, so work with might!

But joy! Don’t fear! The Sun will come again!

And then all things will be alright.

But now a rescue looms ahead – We’re here.

Though evil will deceive – We’re true.

Through tri’ls, o’er mounts, impassable – No fear.

So who are we? The Rescue.
