...Yesterday was our second TRC visit (our only real "missionary" teaching experiences here at the MTC). Our language task (in which we had to knock on someone's door, introduce ourselves and our message, talk about our families, ask about their's, relate that to the gospel, and then try to set up a return appointment) went pretty well. However, I was bearing my testimony and I wanted to say a phrase including something like "God wants us to be happy..." but I forgot how to say happy! So, I just changed ideas completely and left it hanging. Oh well. Then, our actual teaching scenario (in English) was awesome. We actually got to teach two native Italian ladies that are just living in the USA for a short time. One speaks some English (she understands most of the things we say- but we have to talk slowly and have to explain a bunch of words) and the other lady spoke no English! So, what happened was we'd teach a little bit and ask questions, and the lady who could speak Italian and English would translate for the other lady, and when the lady who didn't speak English wanted to talk the lady who spoke both languages would translate for her. It was a great practice for Anziano Knutson and I to practice teaching things very simply and talking slowly so that they could understand. The greatest thing about the lesson was that the spirit progressively got stronger and stronger. I remember I was telling the Joseph Smith story, and it came to the point where I was telling Joseph's version of the first vision (JSH 1:16-17), and for a while I just looked into the eyes of the lady who couldn't speak English - the spirit was so strong, and I could tell that even though she couldn't understand what I was saying, she could understand the spirit and the love that filled the room. And for the next couple minutes after that, the spirit continued to get stronger, culminating with both of our testimonies about the Book of Mormon. We left so edified, and I was on a "high" for like the next 30 minutes. It was awesome.

Here's a couple cool italian words:
- In english we write "hahaha" to show laughter, but in Italian they write "ihihih" (try saying it- it sounds like ee hee hee hee...). I don't know if that's funny to you, but my whole district got a good laugh out of it
